I have always maintained that “Orange County Log Cabin Republicans” is among the most self-hating non sequiturs I’ve ever heard.

Excellent and accurate take down of that soulless ghoul, Will O’Neill. Thank you.

How they haven’t changed. Many years ago the head of the OC Democrats sent a note of congratulations to the head of the OC Republicans following the birth of his child. The Republican’s response was surly.

Members of the Log Cabin Republicans must really be in serious denial. I don't see how any of them can turn a blind eye to what Trump and MAGA are doing.

I was struck by the Log CabinRepublicans comment as well. They are, apparently, every bit as shallow and hypocritical as their elected officials in Washington and the leader of the OC Republican Party.

Do they feel this way about Obergefell being threatened? I was a Republican a long time ago and knew some Log Cabin Republicans. Most of them were just your run-of-the-mill country club Republicans. I think some of them are just in denial that the Southern wing of the the Republican party, with all of it's racial and social grievances, has completely taken over the Republican identity. They won't acknowledge Obergefell or a lot of the other horrifying things Republicans are doing right now because they could never stomach left, or even center-left economic policies (even though, ironically the Democrats are now the party of free trade and the Republicans want bonkers-levels of protectionism through tariffs).
