Just got back from vacation to find the climate in HB worse than ever. Isn't it truly amazing that the MAGA 7 have no idea how this could have happened after they've been busy promoting hate of "the other" in this community. They eliminated the Interfaith Council's role in CC meetings as well as the various human Rights committees they helped establish during a similar time in our city's past. They worked to ban books in our libraries & ignored the disgusting attacks on librarians by their minions. We could say they lack self-reflection but that wouldnt really be true. They know EXACTLY what they've been doing---but now it might actually come back to haunt them as the Olympic Committee and corporations will now avoid being linked to such a scary & unsafe environment. Praying that just like citizens woke up & voted against their policies in the special election, they will realize what this CC has done to destroy our reputation and get involved with groups working to save our city. There is no tomorrow...

The dude, Luke Dennis, is our local Proud Boy who is campaign sign hanger (“duh, I can deliver signs, too”)for every politician on the dais up there.

They own him, and that’s not a bargain.

His tag “Luke Skywalker, and out” is his Proud Boy cosplay. Bonkers.

Please don’t disparage brain worms like that.

Skywalker looks like the ‘riods finally did him in; lawsuits to follow?

Meanwhile, Butch was on the dais texting insults on local forum about the very woman he threatened to sue for slander.

Can’t make this crap up.

I was there in person. My takeaway about each Council member’s condemnation of the overt racism was they felt they had to say something about it in order to get to their real outrage: that member Butch Twining was photographed at the event and accused of being a Nazi, a fascist, and a racist. Twining opened with full-throated anger that the racists had taken over a peaceful vigil. His words there were exactly what should have been said days ago. But the effect was lost when his focus turned to how he was the victim.

True story. Butch was filmed standing there, just standing there, during the Patriot Front Nazi chants.

Revisionist history, and too little, too late.

Costa Mesa city council meetings have morphed into looney tuners, as well. Council members received DEATH THREATS yesterday morning. Folks attending last night's CC meeting had to pass through metal detector "gates." CM police officers wore flack jackets. Bob Woodward quotes Trump: "Real power, and I hate to use the word, but the word is FEAR."

HB has always been a welcoming community. I’ve lived here since 1970 and have seen it all. The NAZI infiltrators will be voted out or forcibly removed. It’s coming. Mark my words NAZI’s.

Butch hints at the "trustee" in his rant as well as Mark Bixby. Convicted felon Lando Calrissian steps up to the mic, calls her out by name, and literally says GCT and Kluwe want to murder the entire CC. For good measure he adds in "this trans guy", Kanan wants the same. HBCF lilt up with insults and veiled threats. Is this the civil discourse our CC supports?

"Scott Walker, over and out." LOL. How ridiculous are these people? Especially, these MAGA bro types. He's a forty-something-year-old man who still dresses like it's 1997 and he's 17, spewing his ridiculous MAGA brain-rot.

"The left," who at this point is anyone who does not vow total loyalty to the MAGA agenda (including Never Trump Republicans), is a weird, convenient boogeyman. But, you know, they will never let an emergency or tragedy go to waste, so now we have these wackadoos in places like HB threatening everyone.

Luke Dennis, who thinks he's cool when he calls himself Luke Skywalker, is a Proud Boy and hanger-on. He doesn't understand politics and will say out loud what they others are thinking.

If Butch Twining was really so outraged by the Nazis infiltrating his peaceful vigil, why did he let the hate foment for nearly a week? Was it so he could have the city council platform and have all his friends come rave on a public mic about what a wonderful person he is?

He could have stopped all the ranting about Nazis in a quick statement Thursday morning. Instead, he threatened lawsuits against anyone who posted pictures of him standing there while Nazis chanted and pondered why he was there.

Wouldn't one think that Kluwe and the other person he invoked as "wanting to murder" specific individuals could now sue him for slander? I'm no lawyer.

I was there. Poor little Butchy. Is this the same dude who was caught vaping at a “Save the Children “” city council meeting last year? I must hand it to CC, they can really dish it out but turn to whining babies if their actions are questioned. They should have brought out buckets for the MAGA tears, the violins were deafening but fortunately little Chad turned the vibe to Holy Roller to ease the tension.

The elephant in the room was no recognition of the false accusations they leveled at our librarians for years culminating in a special election that cost the city over 1 million $.

Librarians were falsely called pedophiles and groomers and many were forced to quit their jobs. That wasn’t even enough. They sent their disciples all over the city to take out their phones and shove dick pictures into peoples’ faces. They brought in out of state provocateurs to read salacious excerpts from books they falsely claimed were in the children’s section. So ya, completely innocent, nice, well intentioned saint- like people.

Meanwhile, down in my hometown in Laguna Beach where we like to think of ourselves as a bastion of tolerance: Students at the High School were asked to observe a moment of silence for the victims of 9/11 and (without a pause) Charlie Kirk. What a learning opportunity for the kids who aren't white Christian nationalists.
