The president of the Capo Unified School Board doesn't seem to understand not everyone shares her faith. Or worships a president who fondles women. Or knew they were voting for Team Crazy.
Look up Ottawa County (MI) and Ottawa Impact, the organization of barking loons that took over the county board and immediately started vandalizing any and everything, in the name of Jesus and Orange Jesus. Two-year reign of terror, but they were voted out of the majority in a VERY red county. Elections matter. Best of luck in voting out these berserker Church Ladies next time they’re on the ballot.
Can confirm that the very first (and only) time I was introduced to Lisa Davis, she hugged me. Did not ask permission. Just lunged in. I was too shocked at the time to say or do anything about it. This was maybe two years ago and I'm STILL MAD.
As a leader in the political community in Arizona, I can speak to your point about charter schools. Arizona is ground zero for the charter school system and philosophy. The whole reason for charter school existence is M-O-N-E-Y. It has nothing to do with little Susie and Johnny. It has nothing to do with religion. It has nothing to do with controlling the content of what kids / the community sees. It is strictly a money factory. This is true of every charter school. Period. I can elaborate, if requested, but forget 90% of Jeff's points about school boards and stuff when it comes to the charters. The charter world exists to take your money and run.
To fit this into Jeff's post, I wouldn't be surprised to find that most of the points he makes can be traced back to finances.
Thanks for writing this. I have a niece in this district, soon to be two, and it’s been tough drumming up awareness even among parents who share the same values as me.
I fell for the click bait and went ahead and visited the OCGOP Instagram where she is honored as school board member of the year. Couldn’t help but notice that they’re also honoring Stefan Bean as OC elected official of the year, even though he lost by double digits in 2022 when county superintendent was on the ballot and only holds the position because he was appointed after his elected predecessor retired for medical reasons. (To be fair, the IG post honoring him does refer to him as appointed)
I'm old. That's why this post made me think of this. Having listened to it again, I understand why it reached #3 in the white (Billboard Hot 100) charts, in 1971.

And she’s planning to run for a state position.
Well done Jeff, well done!
