The Orange County Board of Supervisors standout is blunt, honest, wonkish and all in on a re-election fight. She also has a back story that defies OC stereotypes and expectations.
This was a fantastic interview Jeff. I was already going to vote for Katrina, but I have a much greater appreciation and understanding of her now through this interview. She is outstanding and exactly the type of person we need representing us. I will enthusiastically support her up through the election.

Is longtime supporter of Katrina Foley, and yet I’m just gobsmacked by the information in this interview! Thank you Jeff Pearlman for digging deep, and thank goodness for the wonky woman who loves meetings!
Good interview. Saw her speak at a meeting once and it was informative. Good candidate. There is a large amount of hate directed her way by ocgop which is not warranted.
A couple of years ago, Supervisor Foley was speaker at the Dana Point Women’s Club meeting. Afterwards l I asked her one on one how soon when we could expect to have the railroad tracks moved inland along the corridor from North San Diego County to San Juan Capistrano. She just barked a laugh, looked at me and said “Not in our lifetime.” We then had a long discussion commiserating how any transit project in CA consists of putting bandaids on severed arteries.
I’m proud to knock CDK on doors for her and I’ll be proud to vote for her again in November.
I shared the section on Harbor revitalization on a local Facebook group (Dana Point Unplugged should anyone wish to wade into the cesspool.) The comments are starting to takeoff and they’re already wild. We live in such an alternative-facts universe, a couple commenters have already said they don’t think the interview is real and/or you’re AI.
What a great piece highlighting the Katrina Foley that I know - responsive, inquisitive & laser focused on problem solving. Jeff- what do you know about The Creek Team OC? They come out of nowhere & they criticize Katrina Foley & Catherine Blakespear while singing the praises of Republicans? Like that tracks - Republicans are the pro-environmentalists? I have heard they are funded by The Lincoln Club. Can you investigate? I hate these times we are living in when smear campaigns take the place of policy debates.
If I wasn't already voting for Katrina Foley, I certainly would be now! This person, woman, is the salt of the earth and maybe we just need more of that character representing us. Thank you, Katrina, and Jeff!! Job well done.

Thanks for this in-depth interview. I have admired Katrina since her time on CM council. I left the OC 10 years ago and must say how much she has learned about the County is truly amazing. I worked for OC Admin office for 20 years, working closely with the BOS. Rare for any one of them to have such in-depth knowledge--although hats off to Gaddi Vasquez who was one who did his homework.
Spectacular interview. She is extremely impressive. We need more elected officials like Katrina Foley throughout the State. She would make a great LA City Councilwoman if she ever tires of the OC (like I dida0.
