In case you missed this, the United States Department of Labor recently turned toward it’s Instagram feed to remind all 330 million of us that the current administration is a collection of low-level white supremacist racists.
And if Donald Trump’s long history of ugly remarks don’t convince you, or his repeated slurring of Democrats of color, or his uber-white cabinet, or his rise to power on the lie that Barack Obama is a Kenyan-born Muslim, take it from the Department of Labor’s Instagram feed, which now flows freely with throwback-feel images of, well, white people. Almost entirely white people …
Lord, look at those gorgeous white people. Americans! White Americans! Being strong and courageous and forwatd-facing and unapologetically white!
Sigh.
The goal, obviously, is to push this diverse nation backward; to make it a place where white Christians (and a singular Orange nonbeliever) thrive and the rest of us drown. It’s blatant and grotesque and makes me aspire to vomit.
However, judging by the comments, it doesn’t seem to be having the desired impact …
And, if I’m being honest, I don’t know how we emerge from this current mess. We still feel lazy, indifferent, unmotivated, flat.
But …
We are a diverse land, and all the ICE raids and all the vile racism can’t erase the beautiful rainbow of United States society.
And maybe, just maybe, that’s our salvation.
Our diversity.

Where are the pictures of the 20-30 yr old white American men playing video games and collecting their wives paychecks?
The nostalgia for the 1950's is perplexing. Nobody dresses like those images in this century and the hair styles?? Sheesh. Incompetent white supremists.
