Chuck Schumer is killing us
Just fucking killing us.
I don’t fully understand how it happens. Once upon a time, you are a star. A political star. You rise from the depths to become a hero to your people. The golden child at every family holiday gathering. The big man. You pass laws. You negotiate. You’re a deal maker. A smooth operator. A VIP. On TV. On radio. On podcasts.
You are The Man.
But then, it all starts to slip. You don’t see it, because you’re as blind as a dish towel. But it all fades off into the abyss. The mojo. The magic. And before long, you’re a joke. Actually, worse than a joke—an impediment. You are standing in the way of the progress you used to fight for. You are turning people off. You are making folks lose hope. Maybe it’s your pride, maybe it’s your fear of irrelevance. Whatever the case, you either can’t see it or refuse to acknowledge it. Maybe both.
Term it as you choose—you are so far gone, and you are dragging us all down with you. Your stubbornness is killing us. Your tone deafness is killing us. Your arrogance is killing us. You are a ‘59 Edsel in the age of AI. You are Bob Hope at a Dave Chappelle show. We are out here, busting ass and knocking on doors and making calls, and you don’t seem to give a shit. You are hanging on for the sake of hanging on, and in doing so you are hanging us. Hanging our ambitions for a better world.
You are Chuck Schumer.
And you need to go the fuck away.
Now.
