This is exactly why the left has to move away from moderates. Less John Fettermans, more Mamdanis, and we’d see some actual fight.

why didn't they at least wait until the lower court ruled before caving.....Justice Jackson had a strategy....I guess we'll still hear their ruling which may help....not sure how this works

It feels like Lucy holding the ball for Charlie Brown to kick it. We all know there's about a 98 percent chance she'll pull the ball away. She convinces him this time will be different. He lines up to kick, and...

She pull the ball away at the last second, sending Charlie Brown flying through the air, tumbling to the ground.

Sigh

After all we have been through since 2017, why would any Democrat trust any Republican's promise about anything? I emailed them all, except for Fetterman. He is not worth my energy.

Yes it is beyond infuriating to watch eight Dems blow it for everyone. There is a silver lining here--well maybe not silver--in that the majority of Dems not only flexed their muscles and used what little power they have, they did serious damage to trump and the republicans. Republicans own the shutdown and are poised to show how little they care about soaring health care premiums. Durbin and Sheheen are retiring. That leaves six we have to replace and embolden. So while it once again caves to eight bedwetters, the rest of the caucus stuck it out for 40 days. That is a first. So, let's make the weasel, Mike Johnson, convene the House to end the shutdown . Then there will be a vote to release the Epstein files. If the D.C. chisme is true, there will be House republicans voting to get ahead of what is very damaging findings.

On the bright side, Republicans will soon have to vote on withholding health care for millions. The public has been made aware of the stakes.

Also, there is the release the Epstein files vote coming up. Stay tuned.

It's worse. The Democrats insistence on paying for illegal benefits while shutting down the government put our economy at risk for middle class Americans having our housing, our tax dollars and jobs handed over to open border illegals bringing crime and corruption to our communities. Democrats need to change policies, not try to import votes

Big “ifs” here…. If Thune keeps his word that the Democrats can write a bill to extend the Obamacare tax credits and Thune will bring it to the floor for a vote in the Senate, and if the Democrats can write such a bill that tries not to solve the entire health care crisis, but simply extends the tax credits for a year, no more no less (in other words, write a bill that doesn’t tack on 700 other things). Either version of such a bill will not pass, but, by keeping it simple the message is simple and people (hopefully) will understand what just happened, who to blame come the midterms. I like the idea of up or down votes on single issues, unfortunately, politicians hate it. Would have preferred the Dems kept to their guns, but I’m not flying for business or the holidays, I do not receive SNAP, and i am insured through Medicare. Real people are suffering, and the GOP did not want to negotiate, and hard for Dems to not care, it is not in their nature, while easy for the GOP to sleep screwing people and letting children go to bed hungry.

These Democrats that sided with the Republicans are cowards. They knew what they are doing and didn't give a damn. They don't want to be in shutdown over the holidays. They don't want widows and orphans at their doorstep on Christmas. Instead, they just voted for the death of these same and other constituents when they lose their healthcare Jan 1, 2027. They haven't been played. They have shown their true yellow-belly selves.

This was all because of Schumer. He came up with this, told those who are not running for reelection to fall on the sword for him and they agreed.

Well, not Fetterman. He's a republican in sheep's clothing, so he was probs all, "I gotchew..."
