Aliso Viejo's mayor took some heat for a moment in last week's City Council meeting. Truth be told, she should be receiving flowers (and a handful of Tylenol).
I see a lot of small moments like this, where people on the left side of the political spectrum clash because one “plays nice” and the other “plays dirty”. (I’m obviously simplifying it.) I don’t want to see us pressure each other to change too much. I think it’s ok to have that moment of discord and then come together when we need to unify. It happened and then you wrote to her and you wrote this. All well and good— I hope the people who were upset about it can see she’s a great mayor, you’re a great voice in the community and we just continue.
Oh damn! We need more people like Tiffany Ackley in government.

As a resident of Huntington Beach, I really appreciated her candor. We don't see any common sense leaders during our city council meetings.
