Once again, Jeff, I appreciate your coverage of local scene. I stay away from HB. I concluded this morning that irony is dead: this regime prosecutes Jerome Powell for lying? Please.
Thanks for the attendance and insight. Action is the antidote for despair and I appreciate your efforts to inform us about local politics. I multitask at protests, collecting petition signatures for JJ Galvez to get on the ballot and replace MAGA Kate Sanchez, who I’m sure agrees with God’s desire for everyone to be armed. I try and promote The Truth OC and many protesters are subscribers, others are grateful to hear there is a source for local news.
I could not join any of the OC Saturday and Sunday rallies, so I joined the one outside Fullerton City Hall on Friday night. A couple hundred of us, and lots of supporting honks on a semi-busy street, Commonwealth. This was my first street protest this year and I will go a lot more in 2026. did 16 last year. But I keep asking myself what's next? The protests are important and seem to be growing in total participation. But so what? Even MS NOW keeps touting polls with Trump sinking lower and lower. While at the same time he is acting more and more supreme and untouchable. Which he is. It reminded me of my last blog: "Harumph, Harumph, Harumph," which I began drafting on the 5th year anniversary of the Insurrection. Lots of people speaking out and saying good stuff. But so what? Someone in DC needs to break something, or the media will not even notice. I think we keep or lose the country in 2026, and this means before the November election, assuming there is one, or one that is open and fair. We need civil disobedience, and if you cannot do that MLK movement thing, I understand. But you can boycott with your eyeballs and money. If still working and not a small business owner, you can do sick outs or strikes. This needs to be done on a massive scale. Who are our point people, like Indivisible has been for marches? We need nationwide coordination. The clock is ticking. Meanwhile, I will see you on the streets.
The retired lawyers name is Kelly Patriot and he likes to be aggressive towards and leer over women smaller than him and get in their faces for his gotcha videos. He wasn’t trying to have any kind of civil conversations, he wanted to agitate. He almost got his ass beat for that behavior. Also there was a sexual assault an older woman that HBPD determined wasn’t serious enough to pursue. Thanks HBPD. Of course they think it’s bull shit. They’re all Nazis in a police uniform.
The MAGA folks at the rally were respectful and non disruptive. Of course, they were outnumbered by over ten to one. And there was a tangible police presence.
Especially discouraging on the same day I read a book review from both the LA Times and OC Register about the prevalence of Neo-Nazis in Orange County. Which, according to both writers, has flourished since Trump 1.0 and really took off on Jan. 6, 2021. The book focuses on the tragic murder of Blaze Bernstein by a radicalized Orange County youth. Book is called: American Reich. So fucking depressing.
Jeff, next time there’s a rally in Laguna Hills on the corner of El Toro and PD Valencia, you can have a conversation with the illustrious Nick Taurus who’s always there to protect the grass. He works as a security guard in the adjacent shopping center and becomes a sentinel at all our rallies. You know, to make sure no one is breaking the law because he would never…yeah, right!

Thank you for doing this coverage. It is a daunting task, but so helpful to hear your full range of emotions echo my own.
