We saw the same energy in Denton, Texas yesterday. The people were angry, defiant, but determined. It very much felt like a Howard Beale moment, with people shouting, “I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!" Great coverage and thanks for turning your talents toward this.
Great article! I have lived in SC my entire life. I’m saddened by the amount of MAGA people here. I have felt like a tiny blue dot in a sea of red for a long time and didn’t expect to see the kind of turnout we saw on Saturday. It was so uplifting and gave me so much hope in a time that feels so hopeless. I’m still surprised (I shouldn’t be) by MAGA people like the one who posted about liberals being violent. What about January 6th? Who said “grab them by the p*ssy”? Who sent innocent people to be tortured in an El Salvador prison? Who is suggesting war on our Allies? And siding with Putin, a violent dictator? Who wants to use martial law against its citizens? When white supremacist hurt or kill people who condones them? The list goes on. It’s proven again and again that the MAGA leader promotes violence.
The San Clemente turnout was a “wait-a-minute” surprise. I too was expecting a small crowd, not a few thousand. The street noise was loud including plenty of Tesla drivers honking in support. Let’s keep it up.
Fighting for cutting waste and social security thieves. You started by saying you drive down to San Clemente. And yes we are red- which is why you drove here to invade our town. Did you get your cars scratched, were you acosted? Were you threatened? No because we can be adults where you liberals who don’t care to look at truth are nasty, violent and destructive. Enjoy the next at least 4 years we will have a safer and more sane administration taking care of Americans first
And yet, those liberals came to “your” city and those terrible things didn’t happen to you either. How do I know this? Because if they did, you would have mentioned it in your comment right?
It felt so good to be among civil minded folks who truly care! I saw a woman driving in tears, truly moved by what she was witnessing! I also a couple in their 80s circling the street. The elderly woman had her hands either in the prayer position or clapping and the brightest smile ever! I am so glad I was a part of it!
Huntington Beach showed up today too! Lots of folks on Main and PCH.
Thank you so much for what you are doing to help save this country!

Thank you! I have a MAGA relative in SC, so I am happy you showed up in force!!
We had the same experience at the rally in Rancho Bernardo. Very uplifting and positive
Ridiculous,

Bec, how those tariffs treating you?
If you dislike liberals so much, why are you reading Jeff's substack?
hella good question

Bec, you are either a bot or totally brainwashed. Either way, I have the number for a good psychologist for you.

Great article . I also attended the Bernie rally of at least 36,000 people in front of Los Angeles City Hall yesterday.
I enjoyed your book about the USFL. Terrific memories from an earlier time.
