Return of the termite
Jeffrey Scott Brown is back and speaking to Casta Del Sol Republicans. Because of course he is.
When I moved to California a decade ago, one of the early things I learned about homeownership here is that termites aren’t a one-and-done problem. What I mean is, no matter how big your tent and how powerful your spray, they inevitably return to corrupt your floors and burrow through your beams.
It’s simply who—and what—termites are.
I mention this because, against all odds and reason, this coming Sunday, July 20, the Casta Del Sol Republican Club in Mission Viejo is inviting the one and only Jeffrey Scott Brown to speak to its members inside the Recreation Center.
And if you’re thinking, “Who is Jeffrey Scott Brown?”—well, you were a fortunate soul for your ignorance, and now your luck is about to run out. On Jan. 6, 2021, Brown used stolen police pepper spray against officers at the U.S. Capitol. According to NBC News, Brown “was handed pepper spray that another man had taken from a police bag, and then he sprayed police officers with the irritant as the officers were trying to hold a line, officials said.” Brown, the article said, “was found guilty of seven counts, including assaulting, resisting, or impeding law enforcements officers using a dangerous weapon; and interfering with a law enforcement officer during a civil disorder, both felonies.” One can read his entire case right here.
Brown was sentenced to 54 months in prison, but—of course—was set free earlier this year when Trump pardoned all the morons who believed his lies about a rigged election let the rioters go.
Heck, here’s a lovely video about Brown’s exploits …
In December of 2020, perhaps as a pre-pepper spraying law enforcement workout, Brown hit up Tustin’s very own Costco, climbed atop a table and began shouting down customers in some sort of Mt. Kookacrazy anti-mask diatribe.
Here’s the photo …
And even better, here’s the video …
Yes, bruh is cray-cray.
And if you’re thinking, “Wait—this all sounds very familiar …” well, yeah. Because I initially published much of this post back in February, when the Republican Club of Laguna Woods brought Brown in to sling his bullshit. It remains dumbfounding to me. Like, let’s say you’re a Republican. Let’s say you dig Trump. Let’s say you’re anti-immigration, pro-low taxes. Fuck, let’s even say you believe 2020 was rigged. Well, that still doesn’t explain your support of a guy crashing through the Capitol and joining his brethren as they shit on the floors and steal stuff from Nancy Pelosi’s desk. I mean, seriously.
Alas, up is down and down is up in 2025. It is what it is.
Fortunately, some folks are battling back. An organization known as Residents Against Insurrection Normalization (RAIN) will be holding a counter-protest at the Casta Del Sol Recreation Center #1, (27669 Casta Del Sol, Mission Viejo) from 2:30 pm until 5:30 pm. Said Debra Friedman, Chair of the Casta Del Sol Homeowners’ Association group: “As patriotic Americans, we want the public to know we strongly condemn the decision to give Brown a public platform. We also want the public to know that most of the residents of Casta Del Sol do not condone Jeffrey Scott’s Brown’s criminality.”
Amen.
Who are these people that would invite him to speak? It is hard to believe.
It takes a pretty low set of morals to find anything interesting or worthy listening to any message he would impart. Great article, thank you!
