So, down in Tennessee, Senator Marsha Blackburn is running for governor. My former home state is now fruit punch in political hue, so odds are painfully high she wins.
That said, Blackburn is a perfect mirror of the modern GOP, which is to say sensibility and reason have been replaced by, well, raw nuttiness, tone-deafness and performative idiocy. And on a day when J.D. Vance insulted James Talarico for being gay (which he’s not—and who cares if he is?) and a new White House press secretary stumbled over her seven-word vocabulary, Blackburn somehow stole the show with this Twitter post …
Um …
Eh …
Ah …
Obviously, Kendrick Lamar should demand it be removed. But, more to the point, can we talk about the raw cultural appropriation of it all? Seriously, Marsha? Kendrick Lamar? Kendrick Lamar? Really? That’s your move here?
Can you even name a rapper?
How about a Black friend?
Fucking a, I’m tired.

Can’t un-see that. Thanks a lot, Jeff.
Everyday it's a new low.
