Jeff, I am so sorry. There are people who come into our lives who are absolutely gifts. They shine a light so bright. I have and have had those people in my life. The last time my Hubby and I hung out with Jerry and Andrea he talked about you ! My husband was already your fan and knew exactly who he was talking about so they watched some of your videos together.
It was such a great day…he tried to say goodbyes to us then and I hated every second. We loved him so much.

I started stand up in Dallas in '02, and met Jerry in '03. He was a couple of years younger than me, but I was in awe of him immediately. He might be the funniest comedian to ever come from Dallas. Most of your working comics are funny enough, but Jerry had the kind of material that would make the crowd explode, and that is rare. His work ethic was there in those days too, he always had new stuff, and the kind of jokes you'd be talking about later with other comics or telling friends. Jerry was very friendly, supportive, and very positive... which is also uncommon, especially among comics. I kept up with Jerry and would go see his act whenever he came back to town. He would tell me to hit him up, but I never really did. I've always regretted not having been friends with him back when we had the time and proximity to one another. I didn't know you two were acquainted, but it doesn't surprise me he was a fan of yours. I'm glad you got to know one of the all-time great people.

It's amazing the light people can bring into our lives. Even more amazing when it is brought to us by people we feel we should be bringing it to.
