Irvine showed up. Again.
On Star Wars day in Orange County, the Jedis arrived in their X-wing starfighters to bring down the Death Star. Or something like that.
Forgot there was a rally in Irvine earlier today. Was hanging with the daughter and dog (in that order). Told them both, “We’re going to Irvine!”
The daughter, 21 and home for a day from college, cringed.
The dog looked at me, like, “Nah, bruh.”
I ignored them.
The location was Irvine City Hall. The area Indivisibles pulled together to organize. As always, I figured there’d be a small number of people. It’s a bit misty out. A tad cold. “Top Chef” is on. Naps are terrific.
I was wrong …
It was awesome. Beyond awesome. Hundreds upon hundreds of attendees. Older, younger, male, female, Black, white. And what I love most about these rallies is the splendor of taking your personal anger and turning it positive. Like, we’re all furious, outraged, bewildered by a president who, legitimately, seems to care for no one but himself. Yet instead of wallowing in our furor, we step up. We gather together. We bring it. We fight for democracy.
I couldn’t stay long (daughter, dog, nap), but I was there long enough to depart with a pep in my step and an extra oomph in my punch.
Right on.

Great rally in Laguna Hills too! Probably 1500 people
Thanks Canyon Dems!!
Thanks for coming out Jeff! We’re there every Sunday, 2-4, rain or shine!
