The long term geopolitics appears to be that when Israel again, certainly, attacks Iran, Iran will shut down the straits of Hormuz and the vast amount of oil that flows through it. Enter the alternative Venezuela as a major cheap oil supplier, like before. I wonder whose side the Saudis are on. But it could take a few years for Venezuela’s infrastructure to ramp up production.
Aside from this, more cheap Venezuelan oil will lower oil prices, increase demand and accelerate the climate catastrophe. I’d like to hear what local Dems think about that.
