There is an old saying: “All politics are local.”
And it’s true. Politics are local. When you think about, oh, taxes or trash collection; the neighborhood library; potholes. On and on. All local. And, traditionally, local politics were fairly … neighborly. Think back to the 1980s, for example. For the most part, you didn’t know whether the folks who lived on your street voted for Reagan or Carter, Bush or Dukakis. If there were discussed issues, they concerned area stuff. Small complaints. School board. Etc.
Alas, we exist in a different world. And while there are, truly, plenty of Orange County Republicans who are kind and decent and see through the evils of MAGA, one cannot be aware and not see how the right has turned dark, cruel, indifferent to compromise, comfortable with violence.
So I have started this site, The Truth OC, to bring sunlight to those who dabble in darkness; to show the average voter that behind the smiles and promises, many of those seeking power are in it for grotesquely sinister reasons.
