It should also be stated that the book he is reading from is a Young Adult (YA) novel. It’s not in the Children’s section of the library. A statement from the author on why she writes about difficult subjects, “ I feel it's important to shed light on these issues because that's the only way we're going to develop empathy for people who are going through them. We need to make it real and to be brutally honest about it. That honesty is what my readers appreciate, because those characters don't feel crafted. They feel like they're real people, and to a large part they are.”

The book in question, “Identical” by Ellen Hopkins, is classified as Young Adult Fiction. https://www.kirkusreviews.com/book-reviews/ellen-hopkins/identical/. What is he on about? These book-burners are too obsessed with sex. It is not healthy!

Same with the anti-trans folks. They are too worried about kids’ sex organs and not worried enough about kids’ mental health.
